David Bertrand

Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, flutist/clarinetist David Bertrand was a member of the critically-acclaimed jazz fusion group Elan Parle before moving to NYC in 2009. He is a graduate of the M.A. jazz program of the Aaron Copland School of Music (Queens College), studying under Antonio Hart, DavidBerkman and Michael Mossman. David plays multiple flutes and clarinets as a sideman in several jazz, world music and musical theater projects in NYC including the ‘David Bertrand Quartet’ which plays his original work that integrates elements of the folkloric Trinidadian music and R&B into a modern jazz context.
