Known for his quirky writing and performances, singer/songwriter Peter Chance has been on New York’s indie music scene for over twenty years.

The singer/guitarist/harmonica player has played solo as well as with a myriad of band variations over the years.  Early incarnations were CHANCE OF SHOWERS – a duet with New York accordionist Pat Robinson. Next was PETER CHANCE AND THE UNDERGROOVE – a combo that always seemed to have guest musicians, playing the Lower East Side scene and becoming a regular at The Ludlow Street Café.  Eventually forming THE NOVELLAS in 1994, the act started as a duet with keyboardist/thereminist Laura Ogar and evolved quickly into a full band emerging from the Anti-Folk movement.  The album MAGNETS IN INTIMATE PLACES was released in 1999.

He is known to pop up here and there on the scene sitting in with other bands, playing solo, duets with violinist Cecil Hooker or fronting the band CHAPTER3. Their album READ BETWEEN THE LINES was released in 2009.
