Jazz & Classical Violinist
Graduate of Manhattan School of Music, Dmitriy Fisch performs in a wide variety of styles including classical, jazz, world/fusion, rock, klezmer, gypsy swing. In 2001-11 Dmitriy resided in Colorado, where he was a member of Gypsy Swing Revue quartet. Continuing musical traditions of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt the group recorded several albums and performed at numerous festivals including Aspen Jazz Festial, Telluride Jazz Festival, Evergreen Jazz festivals, Bohemian Nights Festial, and others.
In 2011 Dmitriy moved back to New York. Current projects include performances with DanzaNova and Dodo Orchestra at such New York venues as Blue Note Jazz Festival, Carnegie Weills Recital Hall, Barge Music series, Rockwood Music Hall, Sullivan Hall, ShapeShifter Lab, Spectrum, as well as concerts in San Francisco, Washington and Boston. Dmitriy also regurarly appearances with Gypsy Caravan, Avalon Jazz Band and other gypsy jazz groups.
Inspired by Kreisler and Heifetz, Dmitriy also performs in a romantic tradition of the XIX centurty, and his classical repertoire includes showpieces by Sarasate, Wieniawsky, Paganini, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Kreisler among the others.
